Sometimes we get given a lesson about how fortunate we really are. People who overcome the odds are inspiring and the lessons they give us are awesome. In the video below you’ll see how passion and determination can allow anyone to overcome their physical limitations.
This is beautiful. In one video it captures both the human weakness and beauty. The weakness in that we are inherently suspicious and unwilling to engage strangers and also the beauty of when we do.
Nothing in life that is worthwhile just happens. If you want something you have to go out and pursue it. Practice makes perfect and you need to keep working at achieving the things that you want.
This doesn’t mean that they are unattainable it just means you need to be prepared to pay the price. Watch this young man and marvel in what he can do. Practice makes perfect…
Nat King Cole was the ultimate professional and his daughter Natalie has an amazing voice as well. Nat is gone but Natalie lives on. This song is a classic and well worth sitting back and enjoying.
I’ll be honest, this isn’t original and has been around on Youtube for ages, but it doesn’t matter! It’s still heaps of fun and worth watching over again if you have seen it before and watching closely if you haven’t.
Life is about fun and enjoyment, and this video fits the bill just nicely in my opinion.
Well given this website has a family theme I thought it would be nice to provide a countdown of 10 great family movies from our semi-recent history. This should bring back some memories as it did for me. Hope you enjoy some of the memories.
I’ll bet you have heard the story about how Winston Churchill gave a simple speech to leavers of the Harrow School in England:
On October 29, 1941, U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill visited Harrow School to to hear the traditional songs he had sung there as a youth, as well as to speak to the students. When he was invited to give a speech, Churchill stood before the students and said,
“Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give up. Never give up. Never give up. Never give up.”
To be successful in your life and business, here is what Winston Churchill told us:
“The pessimist sees the problems in every opportunity. Whereas the optimist sees the opportunity in every problem”
“Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense”
Well, I recently came across a more modern tale of the same sort of thing. It’s got to do with Sylvester Stallone and his determination and conviction to become an actor.
Listen to Tony Robbins below as he shares the story that Sylvester Stallone told him directly.
The part I love about this is his commitment to his dog. He knew he’d had to do a terrible thing and he stopped at nothing to rectify it and make it right. Partly from guilt, but mostly from love.
May we all get to know that sort of commitment to the true causes in our lives and achieving the things that will truly make us happy and fulfil our dreams.
I’ve just been catching up after the New Year and a few days away with the family on North Stradbroke Island at Point Lookout. Wow, what a venue. Fantastic three days of nothing but swimming and playing on the beach. Extremely therapeutic.
Anyway, it means I’m a bit behind on working through my Google Reader subscriptions (if you haven’t set this up yet, then go ahead, its gold if you are trying to follow certain topics across the internet).
I came across a fantastic blog post from the folks at GTD Times. For those of you who don’t know GTD is short for “Getting Things Done” and is a time management approach that can be very effective. Anyway, the topic of the post is about setting up a 40000ft vision for your life. They provide a couple of useful tools to help you plan this out and I highly encourage you to follow the link below and have a read.
